Annual Conference 2018

The 2018 Annual Conference was held in Leeds on 12th & 13th July 2018.

The theme was “Seeing is Believing: Imaging and digital technologies in the 21st Century” and included talks from Dr Bethany Williams (Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust), Dr Francesco Del Galdo (St James’s University Hospital), Professor John Greenwood (University College London), Professor Uwe Oelfke (The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust) & Professor Philip Conaghan (Leeds Biomedical Research Centre).

This was the first Conference to have a live artist creating pictures inspired by the talks as well as a special PPI/E theatre production called “Don’t Smile”. We also launched an updated version of the Study Intensity Tool.

The Conference had a strong line up of plenary speakers, covering a wide variety of current and important topics. A comprehensive programme of relevant Parallel Sessions was available to choose from, offering delegates a great conference experience.

PPI/E Play - Don't Smile

The play “Don’t Smile” was a performance designed to disseminate information about oral and dental health research to school children. Thank you to the sponsor Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Research Network.
